Hawaii Sunset Dinner Tips

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Whether you are visiting Hawaii to celebrate your honeymoon or anniversary, or you just want to enjoy a relaxing getaway with your sweetheart, a sunset dinner should be part of your itinerary once you get to the island. Unfortunately, not all Hawaii visitors get to enjoy a romantic sunset dinner simply because of poor planning. So when writing down your itinerary, make sure you devote an afternoon or two to dining by the sunset with your beloved.

There are many restaurants around Hawaii and you will surely find something that suits your taste. If you want to have your sunset dinner in a restaurant, you might want to reserve a table for that certain time of day. However, even if you have reserved the table, don’t expect to have it guaranteed. The restaurant staff will likely tell you that you can make a request but you need to show up as soon as the restaurant opens for dinner.

Dining in a restaurant is not your only choice. You can also have a picnic in a nice spot and save money while still enjoying a stellar view.

It’s also a good idea to know beforehand what time the sunset will start. This will ensure that you don’t miss out on it. However, don’t eat in a hurry. Instead, dine leisurely as the lights and colors in the sky change. You should also bring a camera so you can capture the exhilarating view. If the sun’s angle is too harsh, you should also bring a pair of sunglasses so you can protect your eyes from the glare.

Romantic Things to Do in Hawaii

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Whether you are going on your honeymoon or a long-overdue vacation with your special someone, Hawaii is one of the most romantic destinations around the world. With its beautiful surroundings, hospitable people, exotic food and exhilarating activities, Hawaii certainly makes an unforgettable venue for any kind of getaway. If you want to re-ignite the passion between you and your sweetheart, here are some of the suggested activities that you can do in Hawaii.

Watch a sunset together. You don’t have to be a poet or a painter to appreciate a beautiful sunset. You and your sweetie can simply stroll along the beach or sit somewhere and have a picnic where you can take in the magnificent view. To make the moment even more special, why not have a romantic dinner at sunset or a sunset cruise?

A helicopter ride is also a special moment that you can share with your beloved. There’s nothing like a view from above to let you see the wonderful topography of Hawaii’s islands. Set your ride for at least an hour so you can have the time to enjoy it and take pictures as well.

Horseback riding is another fun activity that you and your partner can enjoy together. Explore the hills, forests and beaches together and feel like you are discovering paradise for the first time.

After an adventurous day together, take the time to relax together by enjoying massages by the beach. Schedule a side by side massage and enjoy being pampered as you are lulled to sleep by the ocean breeze and sounds of gentles waves.

Hiking Emergency Tips

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Hiking can definitely be considered as one of the most popular activities in Hawaii. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most dangerous. So many tourists and even locals who explore Hawaii’s wilderness end up getting lost and getting injured due to one reason or another. The best thing to do to avoid such mishaps is to strictly follow safety guidelines when going on a hike—such as making sure that you stay on the trail, sticking together with your hiking partners, wearing protective clothing, etc.

However, there are still some cases when you might unexpectedly find yourself in an emergency situation. In such cases, what are the best things to do? The first thing you need to do would be to call 911 immediately. State your emergency as well as what trail you are on. While waiting for help, be calm. It’s very easy to resort to panic in the face of unexpected and critical situations. However, it’s important that you remain as level-headed as possible so you can make objective decisions.

It’s also important that you stay where you are. If you had followed basic hiking guidelines then you’ve probably notified someone of the trail you are going on. This means that your rescuers will pretty much have an idea where you are, so don’t attempt to wander and find you way out of the wilderness as this can only worsen the situation.

While waiting for rescue, it’s important to stay warm and protect yourself against the elements. If you’ve packed extra clothes then be sure to wear them if you are experiencing harsh wind and rain.
